Full-time Lead/Chief Estimator Positions Available at Missoula, MT and Alameda, CA Offices
Rigging International is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill a Lead/Chief Estimator position in both our Missoula, Montana office and Alameda, California office. Applicants should have a B.S. degree in Construction Management/Engineering. Successful candidates will possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of the heavy rigging/heavy hauling contracting business
- Five (5) or more years experience in construction cost estimating/project management
- Ability to accurately review and understand construction plans and specifications
- Ability to produce complete and accurate estimates from RFQ stage, through the proposal stage and finalize the terms of the contract
- Capable of performing site visits or walk-downs associated with development of RFQs
- Interact with suppliers and subcontractors in support of developing estimates
- Experience in estimating both Lump Sum and Time & Material projects
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with MS Word, MS Office Project
- Strong communication skills; both oral and written
- Ability to effectively manage the estimating of a wide variety of projects
The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing timely and accurate estimates that are consistent with the company’s budgeting principles.
Other job related responsibilities will include:
- Review project proposals, specifications and drawings
- Provide conceptual bids for projects with limited plans and specifications
- Attend pre-bid meetings and perform bid walks to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Review bids with the Operations and/or Engineering department to develop thought out execution plans and to check for availability of resources
- Utilize historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. for assistance in compiling competitive and sound estimates
- Upon job award, participate in a hand-off meeting with Operations, allowing for a smooth transition from bid to job
- Upon job award, assist Operations in the drafting of subcontract agreements, purchase orders, etc. as needed for the project
Full-time Project and Design Engineer Positions Available at Missoula, MT, Alameda, CA and Beachwood, OH Offices
Rigging International is currently seeking to fill Full-time Project and Design Engineer positions in our Missoula, Montana, Alameda, California and Beachwood Ohio offices. Applicants should have a B.S. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and, hold a PE license or be motivated to obtain one soon. Previous experience in the crane and rigging field or heavy construction is a plus. Successful candidates will possess the following skills:
- Strong background in design with a preference towards its field application
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or solid modeling
- Working knowledge of AISC steel design
- Structural/mechanical detailing skills
- Familiarity with FEA software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 3-5 years related experience
- Have U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and specify use of specialized lifting and transporting equipment
- Perform design, detailing and drafting work
- Take field assignments to support construction operations
- Some estimating, scheduling and purchasing
Candidate will work with professional engineers in the office and craft labor in the field. Field assignments require working outdoors at industrial and heavy construction sites and traveling out of the area for extended periods of time.
